Biography

Formed in 1971, Jacksonville's Molly Hatchet combined loud hard-rock boogie with Southern rock, boasting a three-guitarist lineup and vocalist Danny Joe Brown. Their self-titled debut album in 1978 went platinum, followed by the successful Flirtin' with Disaster. Brown left in 1980, leading to lineup changes and varying commercial success until their disbandment in the late '80s.

Molly Hatchet regrouped in the mid-'90s for active touring, releasing new albums while facing the loss of several original members. Guitarist Bobby Ingram took legal ownership of the band's name, leading to a resurgence in the 2000s with fresh studio recordings and live releases. The band faced multiple losses, including the passing of key members, culminating in their 13th album, Justice, in 2010.
