Madeline Johnston is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist and recording engineer based in Southern Colorado. She began her project, Midwife, while residing at the DIY space Rhinoceropolis in 2014. Known for her emotionally charged experimental pop music, Johnston's sound, which she describes as "Heaven Metal," explores themes of grief and catharsis. With four albums released through The Flenser, her latest work, No Depression In Heaven, was released on September 6th, 2024. Johnston's performances are characterized by their ability to captivate audiences with her intricate and lush sonic landscapes.
