Biography
Formed in 1998 by Rutgers students Gabe Saporta, Rob Hitt, Tyler Rann, and Heath Saraceno, Midtown quickly made a name for themselves in the New Jersey punk scene with their unique blend of emo and hardcore. After releasing their debut EP Sacrifice of Life in 1999, the band gained momentum with their first full-length album Save the World, Lose the Girl in 2000. Following the success of their sophomore album Living Well Is the Best Revenge in 2002, Midtown embarked on extensive tours across the U.S., Japan, and Europe, sharing stages with bands like Jimmy Eat World.
Despite tensions with their label Drive-Thru Records, Midtown persevered and released the introspective Forget What You Know in 2004 with producer Butch Walker. The album was eventually picked up by Columbia Records, marking a new chapter for the band as they continued to evolve their sound and expand their reach in the music industry.
