Metro Area

In the late '90s, Morgan Geist and Darshan Jesrani joined forces to create Metro Area, producing colorful, melodic dance music that pays homage to various genres without conforming to any specific style. Their unique blend of synthetic and organic sounds, influenced by Detroit techno, disco, and more, has garnered a dedicated following across generations of dance music enthusiasts. Geist, with his Environ label, and Jesrani, previously involved in various music projects, came together to release their first Metro Area 12" in 1999 after a year of collaborative sessions.

Following their initial success, Metro Area released a series of well-received 12" records and their anticipated full-length debut in 2002, showcasing their modern take on classic dance music influences. The duo continued to release EPs and remained active in the music scene, with Geist pursuing solo projects and remixes while Jesrani collaborated with various artists. Their enduring appeal lies in their ability to blend nostalgic sounds with a contemporary edge, creating music that transcends trends and resonates with fans across different eras.
