Biography
Brooklyn-based duo Matt and Kim, known for their energetic dance punk sound, rose to mainstream fame in 2007 with their viral hit "Daylight." The duo, comprised of Matt on keys and vocals and Kim on drums, formed in 2002 while attending the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and quickly gained a following with their punk-pop, hip-hop, and radio pop-influenced music. They released albums and captivating videos that showcased their happy energy and catchy melodies, solidifying their popularity.
After a series of successful albums and tours, including collaborations with outside producers and a mix of musical styles, Matt and Kim released their sixth record, ALMOST EVERYDAY, in 2018. Produced by Matt and Lars Stalfors, the album features guest vocalists such as Santigold, Kevin Morby, and Mark Hoppus, and continues to showcase the duo's upbeat and introspective songwriting. Released by Fader Records, the album further solidified Matt and Kim's reputation as a dynamic and innovative musical duo.
