He is recognized for his influence on the Japanese jazz hip-hop scene, drawing comparisons to the late producer Nujabes. Marcus gained international recognition in 2012 with his album "Melancholy Hopeful," released under the Hydeout/Tribe imprint, featuring artists like Shing02 and Emancipator. Additionally, he is part of the jazzhop duo Bop Alloy with Substantial and won the 2009 Seattle Redbull Big Tune Beat Battle.
