Marcus D

Marcus D is a Seattle-born hip hop producer currently based in Tokyo, known for collaborations with prominent American artists such as Del the Funky Homosapien, Royce Da 5'9", and Skyzoo. He is recognized for his influence on the Japanese jazz hip-hop scene, drawing comparisons to the late producer Nujabes. Marcus gained international recognition in 2012 with his album "Melancholy Hopeful," released under the Hydeout/Tribe imprint, featuring artists like Shing02 and Emancipator. Additionally, he is part of the jazzhop duo Bop Alloy with Substantial and won the 2009 Seattle Redbull Big Tune Beat Battle.
