Spain-based producer Eric Estornel, also known as Maceo Plex, transitioned from festival-friendly house music to a darker, more introspective sound over the years. Beginning his career as Maetrik and exploring abstract electro as Mariel Ito, Estornel's Maceo Plex project evolved from deep house to a more dramatic style, releasing music on labels like Crosstown Rebels and Kompakt.
