Biography
Since 1980, Welsh musician B. Lustmord has been at the forefront of merging music and sound design. Initially influenced by industrial pioneers Throbbing Gristle, Lustmord went on to join SPK and establish the record label Side Effects in the 1980s. Renowned for his Stygian drone soundscapes and dark ambient compositions, Lustmord is recognized as a trailblazer in the genre.
Utilizing field recordings from varied locations like caves and nuclear sites, Lustmord's work extends to film and TV projects. His live performances, held in unconventional venues such as power stations and cemeteries, showcase his innovative approach to sound. Collaborating with diverse artists like Tool and Biosphere's Geir Jenssen, Lustmord's move from London to Los Angeles in 1993 marked a new chapter in his musical journey.
