Biography
Luna, an influential indie rock band formed in 1991 by singer/guitarist Dean Wareham after the breakup of Galaxie 500, garnered critical acclaim with their dreamy pop sound. Their early albums Lunapark and Bewitched showcased Wareham's distinctive vocals and minimalist songwriting, while their later works like Penthouse featured collaborations with notable artists such as Sterling Morrison and Laetitia Sadier.
Despite lineup changes and label shifts, Luna continued to evolve musically, releasing albums like Romantica and Rendezvous before disbanding in 2005. Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips, who joined Luna in 2000, went on to collaborate on various projects, including a duet album and film soundtracks. Luna reunited in 2017 for a covers album and EP, followed by a tour, reaffirming their enduring influence in the indie rock scene.
