Biography
Formed in the early '70s by bassist Jesús Castro, Puerto Rican Power transitioned leadership to trumpet player Luisito Ayala and welcomed singer Tito Rojas in 1983. The group's successful albums include Canta Tito Rojas, Con Más Poder, and the hit-packed Con Todo El Poder, released in 1992, featuring the popular single "A Donde Iras." By the late '90s, Ayala's orchestra had signed with J&N (Juan y Nelson) and released the album Men in Salsa in 1999, solidifying their place in Puerto Rican salsa history. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
