Biography

Nicaraguan salsa vocalist Luis Enrique is known for pioneering the romantic "salsa sensual" style in Latin music. Immigrating to the United States in 1978, he began his musical career by impressing producers Alex Cobos and Frank Miret with a demo that led to a deal with Sony in 1987 for his debut CD, Amor de Media Noche. Recognized as the "Prince of Salsa," Enrique has received five Grammy nominations, five Lo Nuestro Awards, and numerous gold and platinum records throughout his career. In 2000, he signed with WEA Records, expanding his opportunities to record his own music and write for other artists. His 2007 release, Dentro y Fuera, celebrated 20 successful years in the industry, followed by Mi Mundo Musical in 2008.
