Louis XIV

Louis XIV was formed in 2003 by vocalist/guitarists Jason Hill and Brian Karscig, drummer Mark Maigaard, and bassist Jimmy Armbrust. Known for their irreverent lyrics and glam-rock sound reminiscent of The Rolling Stones, the band quickly gained attention with a self-recorded EP in Paris and subsequent releases that garnered critical acclaim. Louis XIV toured extensively, including performances at the 2004 South by Southwest festival, before signing with Atlantic Records and releasing their debut full-length album in 2005.

Following successful tours and a controversial ban in Birmingham, Alabama, Louis XIV returned in 2008 with their second album, "Slick Dogs and Ponies," showcasing a more sophisticated and world-weary sound. The band's blend of scratchy punk and vintage rock influences continued to captivate audiences, solidifying their reputation as a unique and dynamic force in the music scene.
