Founded in 1964 in Medellín, Colombia by brothers Jairo and Guillermo Jiménez, Los Hispanos, originally known as Sochi, quickly rose to fame with their unique blend of cumbia, vallenato, and Latin rhythms. With the addition of renowned vocalists Gustavo Quintero and Rodolfo Aicardi, the group produced hit tracks like "Adonay," "Cariñito," and "Papelito Blanco," solidifying their status as a leading force in Colombian dance music. Despite internal divisions that led to the formation of Los Graduados, Los Hispanos continued to captivate audiences worldwide with their energetic performances and iconic releases, ultimately becoming synonymous with the vibrant sounds of Colombian tropical music.

Following the departure of Rodolfo Aicardi in the mid-1990s, Los Hispanos underwent lineup changes, welcoming new vocalists such as Jorge Laún, Marco Vinicio, Delfo Ballestas, and Álvaro Bolívar. Their 2004 release, Los Hispanos - 40 Años de Éxitos, marked a celebratory milestone in their musical journey, showcasing four decades of success and enduring influence in the realm of tropical music.
