Biography
Longpigs, a Britpop band hailing from Sheffield, formed in 1994 with vocalist Crispin Hunt, guitarist Richard Hawley, bassist Simon Stafford, and drummer Dee Boyle. Signed to a major label shortly after their debut gig, the band faced setbacks when the label folded, requiring a £500,000 buyout. Fortunately, U2's Mother Records stepped in, securing the band a new deal. Longpigs achieved chart success with singles like "Far" and "On and On," and released their debut album, The Sun Is Often Out, in 1996. They also toured with U2 on selected dates of their 1997 Popmart Tour.
