Biography
In 1994, Lisa Ekdahl skyrocketed to superstardom in Scandinavia with her debut album, selling quadruple platinum and earning three Grammy awards. Her laid-back style and emotional depth captivated fans and critics, especially in Europe and France, where she gained acclaim for her jazz standards, bossa nova, and original songs. Starting her musical journey at 19 in small jazz clubs with the Peter Nordahl Trio, Ekdahl honed her craft and later found success in France with her bossa nova album "Lisa Ekdahl sings Salvadore Poe."
Returning to Stockholm after time in NYC, Ekdahl released the album "Give Me That Slow Knowing Smile" in 2009, featuring nine original compositions and supported by Sony Music France. Her career continued to flourish, with accolades including being the most googled person in Sweden in 2016 and winning a Grammy for Best Singer/Songwriter Album in 2017 for "När alla vägar leder hem." Ekdahl's 2018 release, "More of the Good," through Sony Music France, was followed by successful Scandinavian and French tours culminating in a performance at the esteemed L'Olympia in Paris.
