Lipps, Inc.

Minneapolis gained musical recognition with Lipps, Inc.'s disco hit "Funkytown" before the rise of iconic acts like Prince and Hüsker Dü. Led by producer Steven Greenberg, the one-hit wonders captured the spirit of the era with their computerized sound and longing for escape. Despite their short-lived success, Lipps, Inc. left a mark on the music scene and provided early experience for future members of Prince's band, the Revolution.

Greenberg's journey from local success with "Rock It" to national fame with "Funkytown" showcased his musical talent and determination.
