Known as the Freestyle King, his affiliation with DJ Screw's Screwed Up Click garnered respect across Texas and the South, culminating in the successful album Undaground Legend in 2002. Despite a brief period of obscurity, his 2004 double-disc U Gotta Feel Me reignited his national presence, sparking a rivalry with T.I. for the title of King of the South. After label troubles, his 2007 release I Need Mine marked a return to form, followed by collaborations and subsequent albums through his own imprint, Clover G's Records, culminating in 2015's El Jefe on SoSouth.
