Lighter Shade of Brown

Lighter Shade of Brown (LSOB) emerged in Riverside, CA, in 1990, when ODM and DTTX joined forces and quickly secured a record deal. While they didn't reach the same level of success as Cypress Hill, the duo earned praise for their Latin rap sound. LSOB's major-label debut with Mercury came after the release of their sophomore album, Hip Hop Locos, and they contributed to the soundtracks of popular Latino films. Despite a disappointing album in 1994, the duo regrouped for a successful comeback in 1997 with a self-titled album featuring notable guest artists. Their fifth album, If You Could See Inside Me, produced a minor hit single before Gutierrez transitioned into a career as a radio DJ in Los Angeles.
