Las Chicas del Can

In 1980, "Las Chicas del Can" became the first all-female merengue orchestra, achieving great success in Latin America with hits like "Ta pillao," "Las pequeñas cosas," and "Juana la Cubana." After a hiatus in 1984, the group reformed in Venezuela in 2005 with a new lineup of talented young Venezuelan musicians, continuing their legacy of blending traditional merengue with modern influences in albums like "Las Chicas del Can Ayer Hoy y Siempre" and "Fama".

Recognized as one of the most important merengue groups in Latin America, Las Chicas del Can have garnered numerous awards and accolades, toured worldwide, and inspired many aspiring musicians.
