Laraaji

Laraaji, born Edward Larry Gordon in Philadelphia in 1943, is a prominent figure in the new age music scene. Mastering multiple instruments, including the zither and hammered dulcimer, his meditative soundscapes have captivated audiences since his collaboration with Brian Eno on Ambient 3: Day of Radiance in 1980. Laraaji's extensive discography spans from synth pop to extended drones, and he has collaborated with a diverse range of musicians across various genres.

Throughout his career, Laraaji's unique sound has evolved, blending electronic enhancement with unconventional playing techniques. His collaborations have expanded his reach, notably with the experimental rock duo Blues Control in 2011, leading to a resurgence of interest in his back catalog. Known for his Laughter Meditation Workshops, Laraaji continues to release solo works like Sun Gong and Sun Piano, while also engaging in collaborative projects that push the boundaries of ambient and meditative music.
