Formed in 1994, the Mancunian duo Lamb quickly gained acclaim for their unique sound that blends passionate songwriting with eclectic influences like jazz, drum'n'bass, and classical music. Their self-titled 1996 debut included the hit single "Górecki," showcasing their mix of jungle and trip-hop elements. Over the years, Lamb continued to evolve their sound, incorporating live instrumentation and collaborating with artists like Meshell Ndegeocello and Michael Franti. Despite a brief breakup in the mid-2000s, the duo reunited and released several albums, including 2019's The Secret of Letting Go.

Following their formation, Lamb signed with Mercury subsidiary Fontana and released their debut album in 1996 to critical acclaim. Their music, characterized by complex arrangements and catchy vocals, drew comparisons to electronic music pioneers like A Guy Called Gerald and Fila Brazillia. The duo's success continued with albums like Fear of Fours and What Sound, the latter achieving double-platinum status in Portugal with the hit single "Gabriel."
