Biography

Senzo Mfundo Vilakazi, professionally known as Kwesta, is a South African rapper and songwriter born on August 11, 1988, in Katlehong, Gauteng. In 2003, he co-founded the rap group Ghetto Fellaz, later renamed The Juvenylz. Kwesta is currently signed to his independent media company, RapLyf Records, alongside co-founder Kid X.

Kwesta released his debut studio album, "Special ReKwest," in 2010, followed by "DaKAR" in 2013 and "DaKAR II" in 2016. His third album achieved 7× Platinum certification in South Africa, selling 210,000 copies and becoming the best-selling South African hip hop album. In 2021, Kwesta released his fifth studio album, "g.o.d Guluva," which debuted at number 3 in South Africa. Throughout his career, he has garnered numerous awards, including 6 South African Music Awards, 4 South African Hip Hop Awards, 1 MTV Africa Music Award, and 1 Metro FM Award.
