Biography

Kool Moe Dee, originally part of the Treacherous Three hip-hop crew, achieved solo success in 1986 with the hit "Go See the Doctor," collaborating with Teddy Riley. This led to a contract with Jive Records and the release of three successful late-'80s albums showcasing his fast-paced rapping skills. Despite a feud with LL Cool J, Kool Moe Dee's popularity began to wane in the early '90s.

Born Mohandas Dewese, Kool Moe Dee rose to fame performing at block parties with Treacherous Three before embarking on a solo career. His debut single, featuring Teddy Riley, gained underground acclaim and led to a record deal with Jive Records. His albums, including the platinum-selling How Ya Like Me Now and gold-certified Knowledge Is King, established him as a pioneering figure in hip-hop. While later releases did not match his earlier success, Kool Moe Dee continued to stay active in the music scene, recording a reunion album and releasing his final album, Interlude, in 1994.
