Kenny Larkin

Third Wave techno artist Kenny Larkin, hailing from Detroit, missed the genre's early years in the '80s due to military service but quickly immersed himself in the scene upon his return, drawing inspiration from Detroit pioneers Juan Atkins and Derrick May. Larkin's unique sound blends house and techno elements, reflecting a fusion of Detroit and Chicago styles. With releases on labels like Plus 8, Buzz, Warp, and R&S, Larkin's influence extends globally, particularly in British and German techno scenes, although his European success surpasses his American recognition. Despite a hiatus for stand-up comedy in the late '90s and early 2000s, Larkin returned to music production in 2004 with new material on Peacefrog.

Kenny Larkin's music, characterized by a mix of house's rhythmic vibe and techno's experimental edge, has been featured on compilations showcasing Detroit's new wave of talent.
