Biography

Kehlani Parrish, a contemporary R&B singer and songwriter, began her music career after transitioning from ballet and modern dance to vocal performance at the Oakland School for the Arts. She gained recognition through her participation in the band Poplyfe on America's Got Talent, where she caught the attention of judge Piers Morgan with her standout performance. Kehlani later ventured into a solo career, offering a fresh, relatable take on contemporary R&B with the release of her albums Cloud19 and You Should Be Here, the latter of which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Following a recording contract with Atlantic, Kehlani continued to make waves in the music industry with hits like "Gangsta" and her debut full-length album SweetSexySavage, which reached number three on the Billboard 200 charts in 2017.
