Kavita Seth, a singer and composer, trained in the Gwalior tradition of Indian classical vocals before expanding her repertoire to include ghazals, film music, and devotional songs. In the early 2000s, she incorporated Sufi music into her performances, gaining recognition in the Indian music scene. Her breakthrough in Bollywood came in 2005 with her first song recorded for the Hindi thriller Vaada. In 2009, Seth's rendition of “Iktara” for the Hindi film Wake Up Sid earned her critical acclaim, including the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer. Known for her selective approach to film songs, she has delivered notable performances in songs like “Tum Hi Ho Bandhu” from Cocktail (2012) and “Jeete Hain Chal” from Neerja (2016). Seth continues to focus on Sufi, folk, and classical performances while exploring new musical avenues, such as her electronic fusion collaborations with artists like KSHMR and Lost Stories. Additionally, she has ventured into composing for Bollywood films and television series, showcasing her versatility in the music industry.
