K.T. Oslin

K.T. Oslin, born Kay Toinette Oslin on May 15, 1942, was a country music artist who rose to fame with hits like "80's Ladies" in 1987. While her success was short-lived due to changing industry trends, Oslin's trio of albums from the late 1980s captured the progressive mainstream country sound of the era. Despite initial struggles in the music industry, Oslin's talent as a songwriter was recognized, and she eventually found success with RCA Records, scoring multiple number one hits and winning a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal.

Following a hiatus from music, Oslin returned to the scene with various projects, including acting roles in films and releasing albums such as My Roots Are Showing and Live Close By, Visit Often. Her final album, Simply, was released in 2015, featuring new songs and reimagined versions of her classics. Oslin passed away on December 21, 2020, in Nashville at the age of 78, leaving behind a legacy as a trailblazing artist in country music.
