Jorge Negrete

Jorge Negrete, the pioneering ranchera singer, rose to national fame in the 1930s to '50s with nearly 200 recorded songs and a prolific film career before his untimely death. Born into a military family, Negrete initially pursued a military path but discovered his passion for music, eventually transitioning from opera to the popular ranchera style. His career skyrocketed during a brief stint in America, where he collaborated with renowned artists, starred in numerous films, and produced hit songs like "Paloma Querida" and "Mexico Lindo y Querido."

In the early '50s, Negrete collaborated with fellow ranchera star Pedro Infante and married film icon María Felix before his sudden passing from cirrhosis. Despite his short life, Negrete's impact on Mexican music and cinema remains enduring, solidifying his legacy as a beloved figure in the country's entertainment history.
