Jorge Aragão

Jorge Aragão, a sambista hailing from Rio, has been active in the music industry for over 25 years. His compositions have been recorded by notable artists such as Ney Matogrosso, Alcione, and Zeca Pagodinho. With over 12 albums to his name, his live album "Jorge Aragão Ao Vivo" achieved double-platinum status after selling 1,000,000 copies. Aragão emerged in the '70s as part of a new generation of musicians in Ramos, reinventing samba styles like samba de mesa and partido alto.

Inspired by established sambistas like Martinho da Vila and Beth Carvalho, Aragão began his career singing in bars and nightclubs before gaining recognition with his composition "Malandro" in 1977. He released his first solo album in 1982 and continued to record with labels like RGE, producing several successful albums. Aragão has also toured in the U.S., performing in cities such as Miami, Orlando, and New York.
