Jon Spencer

Jon Spencer is a prominent figure in noise rock and alternative rock, recognized for his gritty songs and explosive performing style. He gained recognition in the '80s with Pussy Galore before forming the acclaimed Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, known for their energetic mix of punk, R&B, blues, and garage rock. Spencer later collaborated with various artists, including Boss Hog and Heavy Trash, before releasing solo projects like Spencer Sings the Hits and forming Jon Spencer & the HITmakers.

Born in 1965, Jon Spencer began his music career in industrial noise groups before co-founding Pussy Galore in the '80s. Following the band's breakup, he launched the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, achieving international success with their bold sound. Spencer also explored rockabilly and roots rock with Heavy Trash and collaborated with artists like Luther Dickinson. In recent years, he has released solo albums and continued to evolve his distinctive sound with new projects like Jon Spencer & the HITmakers.
