Biography

Interpol was formed in New York in 1997 by guitarist Daniel Kessler, bassist Carlos Dengler, and singer/guitarist Paul Banks. Drummer Sam Fogarino joined in 2002, and the band signed with Matador Records, releasing their debut album "Turn On The Bright Lights," which received critical acclaim.

Over the years, Interpol gained commercial success with five subsequent albums charting on the Billboard 200. They received positive reviews from various publications, performed on late-night TV shows, and headlined major festivals.
