Biography

Hopsin, born Marcus Hopson, is a Los Angeles-based rapper, producer, and actor. He initially gained attention for his departure from Ruthless Records, but later found success with the independent release of his hit track "Sag My Pants" in late 2010. Hopsin's career includes signing with Ruthless in 2007, releasing the album Gazing at the Moonlight in 2009, and subsequently parting ways with the label due to disagreements over the album's release. His independent success led to collaborations with artists like Tech N9ne and the release of albums such as Knock Madness in 2013 and Pound Syndrome in 2015. In 2016, Hopsin founded his own label, Undercover Prodigy, and continued to release music, including his fifth album, No Shame, in November 2017.

Throughout his career, Hopsin has maintained a distinctive image, often characterized by his use of white contact lenses. His music has garnered attention for its blend of personal storytelling and social commentary, as seen in tracks like "Ill Mind of Hopsin 8." Hopsin's work has been well-received by audiences, with his albums consistently charting on the Billboard 200 and featuring collaborations with artists like Jarren Benton and Dizzy Wright.
