Gerardo Coronel, also known as "El Jerry," is a Mexican corrido and alterna movimiento singer/songwriter who gained recognition at the age of 14 with his single "El Guerrero" and for composing the hit corrido "La Tacoma," recorded by El Kommander, Julian Mercado, and El Bebeto. He released his debut album, El Jerry, in 2017, followed by Hombres Como Yo in 2019. Coronel has since released multiple live albums and singles, including the well-received La Ratonera in May and Cumbia Aesthetics in December of 2022.
Born in 1996 in Apatzingán Michoacán, Coronel moved to Culiacan at the age of 12 and began writing his own songs. After gaining attention with his compositions, he signed with Twiins Music, which released his debut album, Historias de un Coronel, in 2015. Coronel's success continued with subsequent albums and numerous singles, including collaborations with other artists such as Pancho Barraza and Cuisillos. His prolific output and charting singles have solidified his presence in the Mexican music scene.
