Biography

Formed in 2006 by friends Robin Pecknold and Skyler Skjelset, Fleet Foxes quickly gained attention for their blend of folk-rock and pop sophistication reminiscent of '60s acts like the Beach Boys and Fairport Convention. The band's self-titled debut and 2011 follow-up, Helplessness Blues, received critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination. After a hiatus, Fleet Foxes returned in 2017 with Crack-Up, followed by their fourth album, Shore, released in September 2020 along with a short film.

The band's lineup expanded to include Casey Wescott, Christian Wargo, and Nicholas Peterson, with Phil Ek producing their early releases. Fleet Foxes' success led to international recognition, with their albums achieving platinum status in the UK. Following lineup changes and a move to Nonesuch Records, the band continued to evolve their sound, culminating in the release of Shore and subsequent live performances by Robin Pecknold.
