Eve, born Eve Jihan Jeffers on November 10, 1978, emerged as a prominent female MC in the late '90s alongside artists like Foxy Brown and Lil Kim. Part of the Ruff Ryders group, she achieved success with her debut album Let There Be Eve...Ruff Ryders' First Lady in 1999, followed by her platinum-selling sophomore effort Scorpion in 2001, which included the Grammy-winning hit "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" featuring Gwen Stefani. Despite label setbacks, she released Lip Lock in 2013 under her own label, From the Rib.
Eve's early career saw her transition from a singer in a vocal group to a rapper, eventually catching the attention of Dr. Dre and signing a deal with Aftermath.
