Deru

Benjamin Wynn, known as Deru, is an American composer and music producer recognized for his cinematic and textured experimental electronic music. Notable highlights include his work on the ballet Genus in 2007, albums like Say Goodbye to Useless in 2010, and scoring the YouTube series Impulse in 2018. Wynn's 2022 album We Will Live On was uniquely crafted using a Disklavier piano. Following his studies in music technology at the California Institute of the Arts, Wynn released his debut album Pushing Air in 2003 under the Deru alias. Collaborating with composer Jeremy Zuckerman, Wynn co-founded the award-winning music and sound design partnership the Track Team. Together, they contributed to popular animated series like Avatar: The Last Airbender and Kung Fu Panda.

In addition to his partnership with Zuckerman, Wynn has collaborated with various artists and composers, including Joby Talbot on the ballet Genus in 2007. Throughout his career, Wynn has released albums on labels such as Neo Ouija, Merck Records, and Mush Records. His unique approach to music production led him to create scores for films like Just Peck and A Leading Man. Wynn's diverse discography showcases his innovative soundscapes and experimental approach to electronic music, culminating in his recent release We Will Live On in 2022.
