Collaborating on hits like "When I Hear Music" and "Lookout Weekend," she gained recognition in the music industry. After a brief hiatus, Debbie returned to recording in the mid-'90s and continued to perform through the 2010s, often alongside other freestyle artists such as the Black Eyed Peas and Janet Jackson, who have sampled or covered her music. Her influence can be seen in the work of artists like Pitbull and Kelis.
