Biography

Formed in Los Angeles in the early 2000s, Dead Sara gained recognition with their breakout single "Weatherman" in 2011, drawing comparisons to Rage Against the Machine and the Kills. Led by vocalist Emily Armstrong and guitarist Siouxsie Medley, the band's raw rock sound earned them a devoted following, leading to successful releases like the crowd-funded Pleasure to Meet You in 2015. They later signed with Atlantic Records, releasing the EP Temporary Things Taking Up Space in 2018 and the single "Heroes" in 2021.

Initially starting as a duo, Dead Sara expanded to a full band lineup and caught the attention of rock legends like Grace Slick and Courtney Love. Their self-titled debut album in 2012 and subsequent singles showcased their powerful, guitar-driven anthems, solidifying their place in the alt-rock scene. Despite a brief stint with Epic Records, Dead Sara maintained their momentum with releases like The Covers EP in 2017, eventually signing with Atlantic Records and continuing to captivate audiences with their energetic performances and evocative songwriting.
