Biography

Formed in Liverpool in 1980, Dead or Alive rose to fame with their dance-pop sound led by the charismatic androgynous frontman Pete Burns. Despite initial setbacks during the emergence of the new romantic movement, the band evolved into a successful dance group with hits like "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" and "Brand New Lover," achieving stardom in the mid-1980s. Tragically, Pete Burns passed away in 2016, followed by drummer Steve Coy in 2018.

Following their breakthrough success, Dead or Alive continued to release albums and singles, with Pete Burns and Steve Coy remaining as the core members. Despite lineup changes over the years, the band maintained a loyal fan base and continued their musical journey with albums like Fan the Flame, Part One, and Nukleopatra. The untimely deaths of Burns and Coy marked the end of an era for the iconic dance-pop group.
