Biography
Formed in 1978 in San Francisco, the Dead Kennedys quickly rose to underground fame with singles like "California Über Alles" and "Holiday in Cambodia." After releasing their debut album and founding their own label, Alternative Tentacles, the band faced controversy with the release of "Frankenchrist," leading to a high-profile legal case. Despite their eventual breakup, the band's legacy lived on through solo projects and reissues of their catalog, culminating in a box set release in 2019. Tragically, drummer D.H. Peligro passed away in 2022, marking the end of an era for the influential punk band.
