Biography

Dutch hip-hop group De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, consisting of Vjèze Fur (Freddy Tratlehner), WiWa (Olivier Locadia), Faberyayo (Pepijn Lanen), and producer Bas Bron, rose to fame in 2005 with the hit single "Watskeburt?!" They quickly gained mainstream success in the Netherlands and Belgium with their infectious, genre-blending sound, performing at festivals like Lowlands and releasing their debut album "Parels Voor De Zwijnen" the same year.

Following their breakthrough, De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig continued to dominate the charts with hits like "Sterrenstof" and "Get Spanish," releasing several albums including "De Machine" (2008), "De Lachende Derde" (2010), "Ja, Natúúrlijk!" (2013), and "Manon" (2015). Their later albums "Leuk" (2018), "Anders" (2018), and "Moderne Manieren" (2023) achieved commercial success, with the latter debuting at #1 on the Dutch album charts. Celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2025, the group performed three concerts in Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome and Antwerp's Lotto Arena, receiving the prestigious Edison Oeuvreprijs for their significant contribution to Dutch music.
