Dan Deacon, hailing from Long Island, New York, blends experimental composition with pop culture and absurdism to create energetic performances and elaborate recordings. His music, ranging from joyous synth tones in Spiderman of the Rings to reflective pieces like America, showcases a diverse range of influences and styles. Co-founding the Baltimore-based collective Wham City, Deacon advocates for D.I.Y. culture and organizes events with fellow musicians, comedians, and filmmakers, emphasizing audience participation in his performances.

Relocating to Baltimore in 2004, Deacon began touring extensively across America, establishing his name through crowd-interaction-focused shows and annual festivals like Whartscape.
