Biography

Damon Albarn, a musical polymath, is a highly prolific and influential UK artist with over 40 albums to his name, including band projects, solo albums, collaborations, operas, and film soundtracks. He has received numerous awards, such as 6 Brits, 2 Ivor Novellos, and a Grammy. Albarn's career took off with blur's debut album 'Leisure' in 1991, leading to iconic works with blur and Gorillaz, as well as film soundtracks like 'Ravenous' (1999) and 'Reykjavik 101' (2001). His diverse projects include collaborations with Africa Express, resulting in albums like 'Mali Music' (2002) and 'Kinshasa One Two' (2011), as well as ventures into opera with works like 'Monkey: Journey To The West' (2007) and 'Le Vol du Boli' (2021).

In addition to his work with blur and Gorillaz, Damon Albarn has released albums with The Good The Bad & The Queen, as well as two solo albums - 'Everyday Robots' (2014) and 'The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows' (2021). He has also produced for various artists, from Kano to Amadou & Miriam, and notably worked on Bobby Womack's final album 'The Bravest Man In The Universe' in 2012.
