Biography

Culture Club achieved commercial success during the early '80s, securing seven consecutive Top Ten UK hits and six Top Ten US singles. After signing with Virgin Records in 1982, the band released their debut album, "Kissing to Be Clever," which peaked at #5 on the UK charts. Their single "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" reached #1 in the UK and #2 in the US, followed by hits like "Time (Clock of the Heart)" and "Church of the Poison Mind."

In 1983, Culture Club solidified their popularity with the release of their second album, "Colour by Numbers," which topped the UK charts and reached #2 in the US. The single "Karma Chameleon" became a #1 hit in both countries. Despite subsequent successes with hits like "It's a Miracle" and "Miss Me Blind," the band faced challenges with their third album, "Waking Up with the House on Fire." After disbanding in 1987, Culture Club reunited in 1998, releasing the album "Don't Mind If I Do" in 1999. The band continued to periodically reunite for tours and new music releases, including their 2018 album "Life."
