Biography

In 2014, CUCA welcomed Alejandro Otaola as the new guitarist, bringing a fresh and energetic sound to their sixth studio album, "LA VENGANZA DE CUCAMONGA," released on March 15, 2015. This independent release earned them their first Latin Grammy nomination for Best Spanish Language Rock Album, leading to a successful tour across Mexico, the United States, and Argentina, where they performed at prestigious festivals like Cosquín Rock.

After a rigorous tour celebrating their 27-year career, CUCA released a commemorative box set in April 2017, featuring a live album titled "CUCA VIVE," recorded in Mexico City and Guadalajara, along with a photo album from those shows and a new studio album called "SEMEN." This limited edition box set, consisting of 500 numbered units, was quickly snatched up by dedicated fans. The band continues to thrive with the release of "SEMEN" in their own unique format and received a nomination for the "Lunas del Auditorio Nacional" in October 2017 for their outstanding live performances.
