Chris LeDoux

Chris LeDoux began his career as a rodeo champion before transitioning to country music, where he gained recognition for his songs about the rodeo lifestyle. He won the world bareback riding championship in 1976 and retired in 1980 to focus on his music career, self-releasing over 22 albums by the end of the '80s and developing a loyal fan base. LeDoux signed with a record label in 1991 after receiving attention from Garth Brooks and achieved his first Top Ten country hit with the duet "Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy." Despite battling liver illness, he continued to record music, releasing his final completed album, Horsepower, in 2004 before passing away in 2005.
