Biography

Formed in Torino in 1981, Carmody was an Italian minimal wave group that blended sparse electronic rhythms with emotive vocals, evoking themes of yearning and solitude. Initially a duo with Alberto Ramella and Andrea Lesmo, both former Teknospray members, guitarist Max Casacci later joined as a trio. The band recorded three demo tapes before disbanding in 1985, with members pursuing separate musical endeavors. Their music resurfaced in compilations and a vinyl release in 2015, introducing a new wave audience to their atmospheric soundscapes and introspective lyrics.
