Formed in 1989 in Los Angeles, Brujeria is a boundary-defying rock band that blurs the lines between grindcore and death metal. Their music, characterized by themes of violence, drugs, and Satanism, is a reflection of their dark alter egos as Mexican cartel leaders. Despite their menacing persona, Brujeria was revealed to be a side project of established metal and punk musicians, using their collective image for dramatic effect and satire. The band's discography includes intense releases like 1993's Matando Güeros and their 2023 album, Esto Es Brujeria, which showcases their unrelenting sound three decades into their career.
