Britny Fox

Britny Fox, a glam-rock bar band from Philadelphia, gained attention when guitarist Michael Kelly Smith left Cinderella to join them in 1985. With their theatrical look and debut album released by Columbia, Britny Fox achieved near-platinum sales and won Metal Edge magazine's Best New Band award in 1988. Despite MTV success with "Long Way to Love," subsequent releases struggled to maintain momentum, leading to lineup changes and eventually disbandment.

Seeking a new direction, Britny Fox brought in producer Neil Kernon for their second album to distance themselves from Cinderella's influence. However, the attempt to diversify their sound did not resonate with fans, resulting in declining sales and the departure of singer Dizzy Dean. The band regrouped with vocalist Tommy Paris, but failed to evolve their songwriting as public interest in glam rock waned, leading to their disbandment before their next album could be released.
