Biography

British India, comprised of Declan Melia, Nick Wilson, Matt O'Gorman, and Will Drummond, burst onto the rock scene as teenagers with their garage-influenced sound and electrifying live performances. Their early success caught the attention of Harry Vanda, leading to the recording of their debut EP, Counter Culture, and subsequent album Guillotine on Vanda's Flash Point label. The band quickly gained recognition, with their debut single "Tie Up My Hands" topping Triple J TV charts and earning them an AIR Award for best new artist in 2007.

Following a break in 2011, British India signed with Liberation Music, releasing the diverse album Controller in 2013, which garnered commercial success and featured the gold record hit "I Can Make You Love Me." The band continued to impress with their fifth studio album, Nothing Touches Me, in 2015, reaching number five on the ARIA charts. Their momentum carried into 2017 with the release of the single "Precious" ahead of their full-length album, Forgetting the Future, further solidifying their reputation as a standout force in the music industry.
